This past week was certainly an interesting one (in both good and bad ways), and I’m glad that it is ending on a good note. I hadn’t heard of this movie before today, but I have a very good friend who loves fashion, French, and of course Coco Chanel. So of course she had to see this movie, and I was more than happy to tag along. To be honest, I have not been very strong in the fashion department most of my life but it is something that I am becoming more interested in.
To sum it up, this movie was fabulous. For one thing, I love Audrey Tautou. I fell in love with her long ago with Amelie, and I was estactic when I saw she was in this film. Second it is all in French. Although there were captions, I really did wish I understood it. It is such a beautiful language. But first I must finish learning Italian, which will not be a small feat. Haha. Third, I thought it was a very good plot for a fashion-related film. It kept me interested, had sharp, sarcastic humor (which I love oddly enough), and of course had the appropriate amount of love. And of course the fashion. The film tried to capture what influenced Coco throughout her life before she became famous, and to me it was very interesting to watch. I love to see what develops and inspires a person artistically. I highly recommend it, and I would certainly like to own this myself.
Hope everyone had a great weekend! Tomorrow I hope to share some photographs that I took in Georgetown this Saturday.
